A Found Alphabet. Number One. The Letter A.

I was riding along the edge of a field,  the grass full of sticks thrown onto the grass from the hedgecutter.

I spotted this letter A, and decided to make a found alphabet.

I wonder when and where I will see the letter B.

My horse has got used to stopping while I take photos with my phone, look at wild flowers, and try to identify wild birds.

early flowering cherry

Here is kojo-no-mai, the early flowering cherry. It's a blizzard of blossom.

This afternoon it's full of bees.

It lights up the garden, and is all more precious for lasting only a short time.

Wordsworth's Daffodils

This is the beautiful wild daffodil. It's the flower that Wordsworth would have seen.  It's small and dainty, and has a subtle charm that today's larger and more brightly coloured daffodils lack.

They have reminded me to look at the
famous poem again, and appreciate it.

These are in Turnastone Churchyard, which
earlier in the year was a carpet of
snowdrops.

reflections

There is something magical about a
mirror in the garden.

Like Alice, I want to step through the looking glass into a strange yet familiar world.

left handed knitting

I have finally mastered the basic knitting stitches, by putting a page of instructions in front of me, and pretending I was a mirror.

My first piece of knitting is a finger puppet portrait of my horse.
