I picked some daffodils from the garden to mark St David's Day. Flowers look lovely against the blue walls of my kitchen. The cats look good too. Here is Jack, ignoring a house full of soft furnishings, resting on the table.
And just keeping an eye on me in case I try to move him. However, I gave up trying to keep cats off the table a long time ago!
Happy St David's Day.

Celebrating Wordsworth's Daffodils
I have been celebrating 'Daffodils' by William Wordsworth with a new knitted finger puppet collage.
the caption reads
a host of what? William pondered
It's a much simpler card than most, and I have used the loose pages from a lovely old book about flowers that was in pieces and not fit for anything except using for collage.
I like the rustic colour of William as well.
The next card in the series has William thinking
when all at once I saw a cow
but since my attempts to knit a cow finger puppet have resulted in what looks like a mutant dalmatian dog, I may have resort to the pages of the Farmer's Weekly magazine and use images instead.
William is coming with me to Free Verse:The Poetry Book Fair in London on 7th September, and is already in place at The Print Shed in Madley for the h Art exhibition.

Poem. Heralds of change. Daffodils
-->
Heralds of change
A splash of cold as
sharp spring rain is
falling,
Nature wakes.
Stout stems and long
leaves
moving in harsh spring
wind,
New season comes.
Look at these flowers
glowing in pale sunshine,
Winter creeps away.
Bright trumpets
pointing
through spring to
summer glory,
The world is turning.
Wild daffodils are my favourites, so dainty and yet so hardy in the cold days of February and March.
This poem has rather more capital letters and punctuation than I usually use, but it's spring, so why not!
