Haiku. making risotto

I love making risotto, and while stirring a risotto with bacon and leek yesterday evening, I distilled my method into a haiku. Haiku is below if the writing on the photo isn't too clear. Well I had drunk a big glass of wine before taking the picture!

the secret? go slow -
stir while reading a good book,
or sipping good wine

  1. Cook risotto - another thing to add to the 'when the girls leave home I will...' list, or on second thoughts, why don't I teach them to cook it...

  2. how lovely - to have the risotto cooked for you, as you sit in leisure, sip wine, and have good conversation! Ideal.

  3. Or why not both, wine and book? I love risotto quite immoderately, the only thing that stops me making it is, as far as I can tell, I have no limit to my capacity for eating it, and no self-control in the matter, and will happily finish off the pan having made, in theory, enough for tomorrow as well!

  4. There is something tremendously comforting about it. I am about to experiment with a beetroot risotto, flavoured with dill and goat's cheese, and a quite magnificent colour!
